HSRP- High Security Registration Plate, has become a standard in license plates throughout India, from May 1, 2012. HSRP as the name suggests, is a high security number plate that will form a uniform pattern of displaying a vehicle’s registration number throughout the country.
HSRP plates are made of 0.1 mm aluminium confirming to DIN 1745/DIN 1783 of ISO 7591. Its border edges and corners are rounded to the extent of approx. 10 mm and it has an embossed border. It is suitable for hot stamping and its reflective sheet is guaranteed imperishable for min. 5 years. The fast colouring of legend and border are hot stamped.
HSRP plates have unique details other than the registration number. They feature a unique seven-digit laser code, a chakra hologram to prevent counterfeiting and a self-destructive sticker with engine and chassis number of the vehicle.
“IND” is hot stamped in blue colour on the extreme left centre of the plate. India will be inscribed at a 45-degree angle in hot stamping foil across all letters and numbers on the plate.
The HSRP plates also feature a non-removable snap on lock and if in any case somehow removed, it will remain non-reusable.
